Dynox Pedals Goddamn Cobra Rangemaster Style Booster:

The GODDAMNCOBRA is Chuck's take on the Naga Viper Treble Booster circuit. The Naga Viper is a Full Range Booster based heavily on the Dallas Arbiter Rangemaster, made famous by Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath, Brian May of Queen, Eric Clapton (Cream/Bluesbreakers). The Rangemaster or any Treble Booster circuit is meant to push an already overdriven amp into further saturation, adding volume while also adding incredible harmonics to an already great sounding setup.

In the early days Treble Boosters were meant to boost and brighten dark sounding British amps like the JTM45, hence the "Treble Booster" moniker. When you replace a critical capacitor with a potentiometer you unlock the ability select the range of frequencies you want to boost, counter clockwise results in incredible Bass and Mids boosting resulting in a full-figured, warm tone, while continuing clockwise results in a more narrow sounding boost with heavy focus on Upper Mids and Treble frequencies.

The Rangemaster circuit is an all-time classic and one of the more often overlooked family trees of Boosts and Overdrives. If you want to find a boost with tons of character and harmonic content but don't want to tread down the beaten path of screamers and klons, then give the GODDAMNCOBRA a shot, a little venom never hurt anyone.

Venom/Gain: Adjusts the amount of saturation and shapes the overall character of the boost.

Range:  Counter clockwise results in incredible Bass and Mids boosting resulting in a full-figured, warm tone, while continuing clockwise results in a more narrow sounding boost with heavy focus on Upper Mids and Treble frequencies.

Volume: How much do you want? Chuck never builds a pedal without copious amounts of volume on tap.

* Runs on 9v standard (center negative) power. Battery clip or power supply is not included. An isolated power supply is recommended.

Handwired in Denver Colorado by Chuck French (Planes Mistaken For Stars, Git Some, Wovenhand)
