From the manufacturer:

This work, Beryl, is a work that Leqtique challenges the mainstream style of the overdrive genre called transparent. Until now, Leqtique has designed and released a delicate overdrive that focuses on the mid-range while using transparent ideas in Rochechouart (2016). This work is a transparent OD/DS that is completely different from the direction at that time, and expands the goodness of the format as it is with our sense, while eliminating the perceived shortcomings and adding new charm. Specifically, it has been expanded to the point where it can output a light distortion sound while retaining the power of the framework that allows all the conventional clean booster, preamp, EQ, and overdrive to be multi-purpose as a transparent effector.

The idea of the design circuit to actually realize this is, first of all, based on a simple circuit structure and constant settings to fully bring out the characteristics of a transparent effect. Unlike the Rochechouart, this time, instead of focusing only on the mid-range, a wide control range and carefully selected constant settings, as described below, allow you to produce everything from a completely clean sound to a TS-style OD sound. Furthermore, with conventional transparent effectors, it is difficult to bring out an attractive sound when the Gain control is increased, so how do we expand it to produce a distortion-type sound? Conventionally, transparent effectors had one distortion section and the other was used as a buffer, but we succeeded in expanding the latter stage to a variable circuit that functions as a buffer when the Gain is in the low range, and as a new distortion section that adds a distortion-type sound when the Gain is increased.

Because Beryl has such "characteristics", you can start by setting Treble-Cut, Low-Cut and Gain to 0 and varying the Volume to make it a completely clean booster, and by raising the Gain just a little, you can see that it has a fairly wide range of volume variation while still maintaining a clean sound. In addition, the Treble-Cut and Low-Cut have a very wide range of variation compared to other Leqtique effects, but we were particular about the operation feeling different from the simple LowPass/HighPass filter with a strange constant setting. As a specific example, by setting both Treble-Cut and Low-Cut to 50% and setting the Gain to your preferred position up to 40%, you can output a smooth, dense TS style sound that is derived from the combination clip of the unknown LT1213, Vintage Diode/Secret Green LED, which is the high resolution and delicate characteristic of Beryl, and also has a terrifying charm. It is worth noting that the Gain control, due to the special circuit design mentioned above, changes its appearance from around 50%, and beyond that it produces a rich sustain like a distortion sound, as well as the dignified yet very lustrous overtones that are its original characteristics.

Significantly expanding the concept of transparent effects, this effector clearly has the widest range of coverage in the history of Leqtique, and not only can it handle any job in a session, but it also perfectly answers the question of "Does it have a unique sound?", which was originally a difficult question when voicing transparent effects. Its high-resolution, dignified, yet dense and undistracting sound is useful for both cutting and soloing in both low and high gain. Please enjoy the many tones that could not be produced by Leqtique effects up to now with Beryl.
